Whether you want to enjoy Paris leading up to or after the wedding, or enjoy Chessy following the day after brunch, here are some recommendations for your stay.

Paris

On the wedding day (May 17th), both the ceremony and the reception take place in Paris. The two venues are a 30 min ride from each other.

The ceremony takes place at the Mairie du 8e, a central neighborhood that will put you a short subway ride away from most of Paris' main attractions.

To get an idea, a 30 min walk from the venue can take you to well-known attractions in the city such as the Opera (15 min walk), the Champs Elysées and Arc de Triomphe, Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur, the Palais du Louvre and Jardin des Tuileries or the Quais de Seine.

Reception

The reception will take place on a peniche, and will include a navigation on the Seine River starting at Port Henri IV, in the 4e arrondissement. The cruise will take us all the way from the Île aux Cygnes to the Bibliothèque François Mitterand, and circle back to the Port Henri IV.

This itinerary will offer a surprising point view of some of its most iconic bridges and landmarks such as the Palais du Louvre, Notre-Dame, the Musée d’Orsay, Pont Alexandre III, Pont des Arts and the Eiffel Tour.

Flying in

For those flying in from abroad, you will be arriving either in Orly or Roissy Charles de Gaulle. Both airports are about 1h ride to central Paris and offer public transportation (RER B for Roissy, RER C for Orly). Both the RER and taxis are fairly well indicated by the airport signage.

Once you are in Paris, the subway can take you pretty much anywhere in the city in about 30 min. Uber, Bolt, and G7 are the most commonly used ride apps.

Accomodations in Paris

There are plenty of accommodation options in Paris, and of course airbnb. Anything in the aforementioned ceremony or reception areas or in between will be close enough that you will be able to reach the venues in 30 min. Chessy

Chessy, located 30km from Paris, is famous as the location of Disneyland Paris. It is also close to Val d’Europe, one of the biggest luxury outlet shopping destinations around Paris.

To go to Alan & Melda’s Place in Chessy from Paris, take the RER A eastbound towards Marne-la-Vallée Chessy. It’s a 1h trip from central Paris. Ubers or cabs will also take you there from Paris.
